Monteia was born in Huntington, West Virginia in 1988. She graduated from Lexington Christian Academy in 2006, earned a double Bachelor of Arts from Wake Forest University in 2010, and then received her Juris Doctorate from Northern Kentucky University Salmon P. Chase College of Law in 2014.
Monteia was admitted to the Kentucky Bar in 2015 and is a member of the United States District Courts for both the Eastern and Western Districts of Kentucky. She has been a seminar speaker on Kentucky Workers’ Compensation issues. She was previously general counsel for a multimillion-dollar industrial hemp company
